A Gorgeous Catholic Celtic Cross
Our Dromahair Cross is inspired by St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland. He settled in the valley of Dromahair around AD 440 and founded a church, monastery, and nunnery there. Across the River Bonet from the village of Dromahair is Creevelea, a Franciscan Friary, which was founded in 1508 by Margaret, wife of Owen O’Rourke. Many of the tombs on the grounds today are those of the O’Rourke family.
