Fatima Tablecloth

Our Lady appeared to three young children on October 13, 1917, in Portugal, Fatima. Large crowds gathered in Fatima to catch a glimpse of a lady that three shepherd children had said appeared to them. Witnesses said that after a period of heavy rain, the clouds cleared and the sun began to "dance" across the sky. The children reported that the lady wore white and held a rosary in her hand. She implored them to pray the rosary everyday as this prayer would lead to the end of WWI.

When I think of Portugal, I imagine the color palette used in this collection: blues, soft greens, and vibrant reds. When I imagine Mary's apparition to the children, I imagine she spoke with the gentleness and care of a mother shrouded in a soft glow with the most beautiful, delicate features.

This tablecloth is hand-block printed on 100% cotton canvas, which is a heavier stain-resistant fabric. Given the nature of the hand block print process, expect color variations throughout. We believe this adds to the charm of the pattern. NOTE: You may also see some imperfections where the paint pattern has "bled".

Care: All linens are machine washable. Please note that with continued wash, the fibers will soften but colors should not fade. Wash with like colors on cold gentle. Recommended to hang dry and tumble dry on low. May iron on cotton settings using steam or starch.
